What do I do about financial secrets and a possible compulsive spender?

I just, after two years in a relationship with my boyfriend, discovered accidentally while filing his papers that he has 3 credit cards and three loans in addition to his house loan totalling almost $45,000. Then he has his home loan of $145,000 which is very high for the home he has (two story modular). He does not disclose any of this to me. He just refinanced his homeowner loan to get a lower interest rate, but wants to spend 10,000 on some four-wheel contraption with a cab and dump box on the back. How do I get him to understand he needs to stop spending? I have virtually no debt of my own. I have a car I am leasing for three years and I owe 12,000 on my own home (a double wide home). I have no credit cards and I don't want to assume his financial debt down the road in the future if we ever get married. How do I get someone who will not discuss anything with me to discuss it with me? |
