Leg thickness difference while taking Prednisone?

I had been taking prednisone for 9 months to help alleviate pain associated with polymyalgia rheumatica.I noticed that my left leg has become thicker than the right leg.I had been to many doctors,however they were not able to find out why this has happened. Could it be from prednisone.If so ,will my leg ever return to normal?
Also not only have i had broken bones,but my skin is extremely thin. Will my skin ever reurn to normal?
