Psychological disorder for not wanting to be clean?

By Susan on August 30, 2006 in Mental Health Disorders

One of my co-workers never takes a bath. He does drink quite a bit. He has been told by his supervisors that he needs to come to work clean, ie: take a bath, use deoderant, clean clothes, etc. It lasts for a couple of days and then back to "Mr. Stinky". His work area reaks of stink! He reaks of stink; body odor!!! He has been told straight to his face that he has to clean his office space, clean his office vehicle, and himself. He is repulsive. It's making his co-workers sick! He smells like he's dead. Is there some pshchological disorder for this? Could all this be caused by depression? Even his supervisors don't know what to do. This man makes a great salary and has worked for this agency for almost 30 years. Any advice would be most helpful.
Thank you,
Susan
