WILL PYRETHRIN KILL BITING MITES THAT HAVE INFESTED A HOME?

our home has been infested with biting mites. we think they have come from mice that died somewhere in the buildings walls. we need to know if pyrethrins will kill the mites; nothing we have tried seems to work.we have tried every thing you can get from a surplus store;
