Uveitis

By Greg Mrowka from Maine, USA on March 29, 2006 in Uveitis

A year ago I was prescribed EYE drops and the drugstore mis-filled the prescription and gave me EAR drops. Without realizing this I put the drops in both eyes. Three months down the road, I could not take it any longer and sought help from my regular eye doctor. I was then sent to two more specialists and diagnosed with uveitis. No one can say how this happened. We have researched this problem for 9 months and have come up with some facts that trauma to the eye is one cause, plus another web site (Emedicine) that says putting ear drops in the eyes could lead to many problems and uveitis was one. I was out on disability for this for four months and now as of today, have had a relapse in one eye that they say is stress from work. I am a train dispatcher which is a very stressful job.
In the past months, I have had blood work done which showed absolutely nothing else wrong. No diseases or illnesses that could contribute to this.
Does anyone (!) know if the ear drops would or could be the cause. The Uveitis group says that I could have had an underlying of it and the ear drops made it come to surface.
I would love some feedback. Thank you for your time.
Mr. Greg Mrowka
