What can I do for my grandaughter I think shows sighns of SM at 12 months old.

I read the Time Magazine article - and realized that I have always been SM and that my daughter now 35 years old has always been SM also. My daughter now has a 12 month old daughter and I can see the same family traits in her. She is very clingy she does not play with toys unless someone is playing with her she always wants to be near someone so much so that she has to have ahold of your hand or clothes. My daughter has her in a kindermusic group. She does not inter act with the others, she just stares at everybody. What can be done to help her now.
