Sclerotherapy treatment reaction
By Carol from Grand Junction, CO on March 05, 2006 in Varicose Veins Treatment
I had Power Phlebectomy surgery on my left leg in spetmeber. The leg healed and my docotor did sclerotheraphy on the same leg treating many spider veins. Everything went well. I was having some swelling and pain in the left ankle. In February he did more sclerotheraphy on the visible spider vein and decided that a deep vein down toward the ankle might be causing the swelling and pain in the ankle. He did a deeper sclerotherapy treatment which resulted in second and third degree burns. The procedure was done February 7 and I am still suffering pain and have been on pain pills since February 7. The leg first looked black and Gray. It is now just beginning to show some signs of healing although it it very raw looking. I am under a wound doctor's care.
I would like to know what happened to cause this sever reacton.
This has been extremely painful and the treatment is the same treatment as burns.
I have kept note of the progress and taken pictures.
I can e-mail those if this would be of help. |
