Can being on Novo-Valproic Acid for 8 years stop you from wanting children?

I've been on Novo-Valproic Acid 250mg for 8 years. I've been in a lot of situations were I might have been pregnant, took a lot of tests and went to the doctors and I was still not pregnant. Now that I'm with someone that I want to have kids with nothing is happening. The two times we've tried I got my period both times. What's wrong with me?
