hysterectomy post op pain, length of stay in hospital

Obviously, [and thank god ], it`s my wife that is having the abdominal hysterectomy. I`m asking you because i don`t have the answers to what seem to be the things she fears the most. [1] How painfull is post operative and will she be given adequate post operative pain medication ? It seems every woman she has talked to would prefer death to going through it again.[2] How long is the average stay in the hospital? [3]Dolly is a 14 year x-ray technition, and she is afraid she will lose her job if complete back to work recovery takes more than 3 months. They will only hold her job for her for that length of time. So, complete cure time is weighing heavely on her mind. Dolly is 59 years of age , and she thinks her age will add to that time. I love my wife with all my heart, and i am just grasping at straws here and trying to find a little light for her. It is pretty dark where she is right now. GOD BLESS YOU AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.
