Our Toy Poddle has lumps in Mammary ducts under belly.

Our Toy Poodle Taffy, Has hard lumps near teats. she was spayed after she had one litter. The vet who operated said not to worry if they get bigger they can be removed. That was nine years ago. Now she is 14 and the lumps are bigger & hard now and vary in size(nickel to dime) about five of them. I am very worried because of her age and surgery. Is there anything we can do or give her to avoid the surgery or is it necessary to remove the lumps? All that I have read indicates that these are cancer lumps in the breast of the dog ( just like humans) What can I do to help her. She also has cataracts now how do I help her with both illnesses?
