son's grief over losing mom

By marisa lascano from palm desert ca on September 01, 2005 in Grief Counseling

My (step) son of six years who is 13 has just lost his mom, she died as a result of severe out of control diabetes. We found out tuesday night when we returned from our family vacation that she had passed the day before, while we were at disneyland. His father broke the news to him as soon as we heard. He was shaking and cried for a few minutes, hugged us all and grew quiet. A few minutes later his paternal grandma came and again he hugged but there has been no more anything. He was a little apprehensive to go to his maternal grandma's house, that was where the family was all together,a very old fashioned hispanic family this grandma was loud and wailing when he came in, he hugged her, but left the room asap. My question is what do i do?
