What can I do to make it work for the both of us?

By Greg Madden II on August 16, 2005 in Relationship Counseling

Kira and I have known each other for almost 2 1/2 years We've together for a year. Yes we're young adults with lots of things going on with our lives. we both live with my parents. we were separated for almost a year to think about what we want for ourselves. We did sit down and talk about our feelings. She believes that its meant to be for the both of us be together. I believe in myself and I believe in her. I told her we'll take it one day at a time and take it slow. 2 1/2 months we've been working on it till one day she just stopped. I asked her when did this all happened? she said I don't know, just for no reason she's throwing it away. she wants to start all over as friends. i told her that its hard for me to start all over as friends when we're in the same house. She wants to partying it up before she's 21. she does drugs, and drink...hangs out with the wrong crowd. what can I do to be a friend and make her see? just back off and be there when she needs a friend?

reply to your problem

I read your small but enourmous article and I think that maybe now she needs a friends advice to guide her to the better of her life. I dont think she wants her boyfriend to see her in this situation. She needs the person that loves her the most to be there not only as a partner but as a friend. Her mind might not be set on being friends for ever, but you need to understand that space to ones self is very important. Space should'nt be a privilidge, it should be something you have and coul dhave around anyone. Give her the time and respect she disurves as a human being, and the gift that God gives a loved one with patience will be granted to you. Give her the liberty she disurves as a loved one, and the knowledge of knowing more will be said to you. I hope that everything works out.

Sincerely,
Denise
